Through the extrusion process, barley is heat-treated to improve starch digestion and feed utilisation, helping reduce the risk of digestive upsets associated with undigested starch reaching the hindgut. Added vegetable oil increases calorie density while contributing to healthy skin and coat condition.
With approximately 10.5% crude protein, 6% fat, 6% fibre and 15.5 MJ/kg digestible energy (dry matter basis), Extruded Barley provides a concentrated source of energy for horses needing extra condition or fuel for work.
Containing just barley and vegetable oil, it has no added vitamins or minerals, making it ideal for adding calories to an already balanced feeding programme without unnecessarily increasing mineral intake.
